The legal stuff
Privacy Policy
How RoofMatch handles your roofing request and contact information.
Last updated: August 31, 2026
1. Scope and operator
This policy describes how RoofMatch, doing business as RoofMatch ("RoofMatch," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit the website, submit a roofing request, upload a photo, or communicate with us. We are a marketing and matching service, not a roofer, insurer, claims adjuster, or emergency service.
2. Information we collect
- Job and property details: job type, ZIP code, urgency, issue summary, optional street address, property type, your relationship to the property, roof type and age, number of stories, issue timing, active-water information, project timeline, description, approximate size, insurance-claim status, and conditional answers relevant to the selected job.
- Photos and file data: roofing photos you choose to upload and basic file information. A file may contain metadata added by your device. Do not upload people, identification documents, payment information, license plates, or unrelated private areas.
- Contact details: name, telephone number, email address, preferred contact method, and preferred time.
- Attribution and technical data: landing page, referrer, campaign parameters, IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, page requests, spam-protection results, and security logs.
- Consent and transaction records: request ID, submission time, the consent disclosure and version shown, and your affirmative agreement.
3. Sources of information
We receive information directly from you, automatically from your browser and our hosting or security providers, and from advertising or referral partners through campaign parameters.
4. How we use information
- review, score, route, and respond to your roofing request;
- look for one roofer who may fit the job and location;
- make the requested introduction and support communications;
- operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service;
- measure campaign performance and prevent fraud or misuse; and
- maintain consent records, enforce terms, and comply with law.
5. How we disclose information
At your direction, we may disclose the request, photos, and contact details to one roofer at a time so that roofer can evaluate and respond to the job. A roofer is an independent business and handles information under its own privacy practices.
We may also disclose information to providers of hosting, security, communications, analytics, campaign measurement, file handling, spam protection, and lead delivery; to professional advisers; when required by law or needed to protect rights and safety; or in connection with a merger, financing, sale, or transfer of the service. We do not publish homeowner requests or photos.
6. Compensated introductions
A participating roofer may pay RoofMatch for an introduction. Depending on the law where you live, a compensated lead disclosure may be considered a "sale" of personal data even though you requested it. We do not disclose a request to unrelated data brokers or a list of roofers. If you do not want the requested disclosure, do not submit. After submission, you may ask us to stop later disclosures, but we may not be able to retrieve information already delivered to a roofer.
7. Cookies, attribution, and spam protection
We may use essential local storage and similar technology to preserve form progress, remember attribution, secure the service, and prevent duplicate or abusive requests. If configured, Cloudflare Turnstile processes technical information to distinguish legitimate users from abuse under Cloudflare's own privacy terms. We do not state that we use cross-site behavioral advertising unless and until that technology and legally required controls are implemented.
8. Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for request delivery, consent and audit records, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Photos may have a shorter operational retention period than consent records. We use safeguards appropriate to the information, but no online system is completely secure.
9. Communication choices
You may ask us or the matched roofer to stop marketing calls or emails. Reply STOP to texts where that option is provided. Revoking contact permission does not undo processing or disclosure already completed at your direction.
10. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your state and whether the applicable law covers us, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy; opt out of certain sales, targeted advertising, or profiling; limit certain sensitive-data uses; and appeal a denied request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
We may verify your identity before responding. An authorized agent may submit a request where allowed by law, subject to proof of authority and identity verification. We do not offer a financial incentive for personal information.
11. Children
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the roofing request.
12. Third parties and changes
This policy does not govern a matched roofer, insurer, or third-party site. We may update it as the service or law changes. The date above identifies the current version; material changes will be presented as required by law.
13. Contact
Send privacy questions or requests to hello@roofmatch.ai. Identify the email address or phone number used in the request, but do not send identity documents, claim documents, or additional sensitive information unless we ask through a secure method.
